Fresh juices as smoothies are healthy drinks that allow us to enjoy the beneficial properties of the fresh ingredients contained in them, especially fruits and vegetables.
The main ingredients of many industrially prepared juices are, if we read the label, water and sugar and only then a small percentage of fruit. However, while shopping or out of home and even at the bar, we can find good natural juices with no added sugars or colorants and these can be a great way to replenish liquids and vitamins.
A separate discussion is made for fresh juices prepared with an extractor, of which we currently hear much talk. These are extracted at low speeds so as not to heat the ingredients, in order not to affect their vitamins and enzymes.
We thus obtain beverages rich in water (biological water present in fruits and vegetables), enzymes, vitamins and mineral salts, but poor in fibres which remain as scraps of the product.
Instead smoothies, in addition to the juice, contain also fibres, which then help transit through the intestinal tract, and they are also great if we add coconut or almond milk, turning them more delicate (smooth). During the day, additionally to the amount of water needed, we enjoy our favourite fruits by preparing a mixed fruit smoothie or an extract of seasonal fruit and vegetables.
